Krakow, Poland, 17 - 19 June 2026

Sure neural networks are cool but have you ever used a Firefly Algorithm to find the solution to a problem? How about an Ant Colony algorithm or one of the many other algorithms inspired by nature? In this talk we will see examples of a number of awesome bio-inspired algorithms that can be used to solve problems in software. We'll see how each one works, analyze its strengths and weaknesses, and determine when it is best used. You'll leave with the knowledge you need to solve problems using these algorithms in your language of choice.

Target Audience:

* Software developers who want practical tools for solving optimization and search problems
* Engineers curious about alternative algorithms that go beyond neural networks and traditional heuristics
* Technical architects evaluating when bio‑inspired algorithms are a better fit than brute‑force or gradient‑based methods
* Data scientists and ML‑curious developers interested in evolutionary and swarm‑based approaches
* Teams building systems that require adaptive, iterative, or population‑based problem‑solving strategies
* Engineering leaders who want a broader algorithmic toolkit for tackling complex or poorly defined problems
