Do you ever go to buy something online, but find that you first have to create an account, download an app, prove you're not a robot, submit verification codes… and wonder why we're making it so hard to take your money?!
The shift to online shopping has revolutionised the travel industry in the last 20 years - it's never been easier to plan a trip from the comfort of your own home. However, as a trillion-dollar industry, it's also attracted the attention of fraudsters. As the technology advances, so do they - constantly innovating new ways to take advantage of online platforms.
In this talk I'll discuss the wide range of ways the online travel industry has been targeted, what we're doing at Viator to stay one step ahead, and how we balance serving our customers with keeping them protected.
